The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles, known as AMDA LA, has been teaching and training performers for over 50 years in acting, music, and dance.  Located both in New York and Los Angeles, AMDA was founded by Philip Burton, the adopted father of Richard Burton.  After helping Richard achieve fame, Philip decided to do the same for as many performers as he could which led to the school’s foundation.
