This does what it is supposed to do: it holds up my cookbooks. However, it is not as attractive as I had hoped. I realize that it is supposed to look antique, but there’s a difference between looking old and looking damaged.
Pros:
* lip at the bottom and page weights do a good job of holding books open
* weights can be put to the back when not needed
* does not tip over when holding a heavy book
* base is wide enough for fat cookbooks
* folds _relatively_ flat for storage
Cons:
* some of the bars are crooked making the stand look shoddily made
* the “antique” finish is scratched in some places suggesting poor quality
So, I’m happy that it works but I’m unhappy with the appearance. It’s a good thing that it folds flat-ish for storage because I would never leave it on the counter as decoration.

This holder may not be truly functional…but it would look pretty holding just about any book. It is heavy and rustic looking and worth the price.
